Windows Start | Run after browsing to WS_FTP download file WS_FTPLE.EXE in my DOWNLOAD folder
Fig 1. Starting the WS_FTP LE install program from Start | Run

When the WS_FTP LE Installation window opens select Install WS_FTP LE if it is not already selected and click on Continue.

Two successive windows will come up asking you questions to determine your eligibility for WS_FTP LE. Select the applicable answers then click Next to continue. The answers shown in Figures 2 and 3 result in a successful installation.

The End User License Agreement (EULA) will be displayed; after reading it click "Accept". The next 2 screens will ask where you want to install WS_FTP (the default will probably be C:\Program Files\WS_FTP) and the default folder for your download files during WS_FTP sessions (this is the folder that will open when you start WS_FTP). Figures 4 and 5 show my setup.

WS_FTP will install itself then ask you for a name for the Program Manager Group; the default, WS_FTP, is fine. This is the main heading that will show up in the Start | Programs menu.
